A typical unit runs at 400V and pulls serious current to hit the wattage needed for full polymerization. The tube is around 300mm long, sized to match the curing zone, so the energy stays focused where it matters. That compact footprint is great for concentrating power, but it also means heat builds up. Plan for proper cooling up front. If you don’t, both the lamp and the substrate can take a beating from thermal stress.
What’s inside: quartz, coating, and the R7s connection
The heart is a quartz envelope, chosen because it transmits shortwave UV cleanly without getting soft under high heat. We add a specialized coating to keep output steady and shield the arc tube from the chemicals floating around in finishing lines. And the R7s bi-pin connector? It’s the standard for a reason. It gives you solid, two-point contact that can handle high current, and it makes installation simple—just drop it in and know it’s lined up right inside the reflector housing.
What it does on the line—and why it matters
On the coating line, the job is simple: cure deep, right now. The shortwave UV kicks off cross-linking through the whole coating, not just the top layer. That builds hardness that fights scratches and scuffs, especially in high-traffic spots. And because it cures fast, the top layer locks in with that high-gloss look modern flooring demands. No waiting around for solvent-based systems to dry. The trade-off is control—this kind of power density needs careful reflector alignment and stable voltage. Keep those two steady, and the lamp will run cycle after cycle without breaking a sweat.
